Yadira Tejeda-Saldana, PhD

Yadira brings to New Harvest not only her experience as a co-founder and former Executive Director of Cellular Agriculture Canada, but also as a food scientist trained in Mexico, the Netherlands and Canada. She has more than 10 years of experience working in the food industry, academia and non-profit sector.

After her PhD in microbiological food safety research, she became fascinated by the intersection of science, policy and science communication. At New Harvest, Yadira is eager to combine her expertise and interests to build a transparent, safe, and equitable cellular agriculture ecosystem that drives positive change in our food systems.

Besides cell ag and food, Yadira is passionate about dog rescue and enjoys volunteering in her free time at a local rescue organization.
