THE ADVANCING CELLULAR AGRICULTURE BULLETIN
Overview
In 2025 we sent out a survey to gauge interest in the idea of supporting a new journal focused on cellular agriculture. Based on the responses we received and discussions with our collaborators, we launched the first Cellular Agriculture Bulletin aimed at fostering communication and collaboration within the rapidly evolving field of cellular agriculture.
This open-access publication seeks to disseminate cutting-edge research and practical insights to practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and anyone interested in the potential of cellular agriculture technologies.
The bulletin will serve as a platform for high-level reviews, highlighting advancements and emerging technologies in cellular agriculture. We encourage submissions that summarize scientific bodies of knowledge and discuss their practical applications across various sectors. Our goal is to keep our community informed about ongoing developments and to facilitate the exchange of innovative ideas that can advance the field. Policy discussions will be an integral component of the bulletin, as we recognize that regulatory frameworks greatly influence the progress of cellular agriculture. By featuring these discussions at all levels of policy, we hope to provide insights that support informed decision-making among stakeholders.
Furthermore, the bulletin aims to spotlight relevant social science research, including techno-economic analyses (TEA) and strategies aligning with the principles of a circular economy. We believe that understanding the social dynamics and impacts of these technologies is crucial to their successful implementation and acceptance.
In addition to research articles, we welcome brief opinion pieces that highlight emerging trends, explore gaps in knowledge, or identify technological hurdles that need addressing. Unique perspectives are invaluable for stimulating dialogue and pointing the way toward future research directions.
